  1. I have a question. I am thinking of adding a Powell handmade headjoint to my back up intermediate flute. I know that a headjoint can be fitted to a flute body, and I understand the process when the tenon needs expanded, but what process is used when it needs made smaller?

  2. Hello -- thank you for posting. That is a good question. To make the tenon smaller, it would be sanded down to fit the barrel.

  3. I find using a tube die shrinker to work perfectly and it involves not removing precious metals on the tenons, but a gradual shrinking process.

  4. Is anyone interested in replacing. A Crappy mechanism on my Rosewood flute with a better one? A simple plateau inline G b foot mechanism of stainless steel would be fine. Chinese maker s9 the current mechanism is Awful.
